Huttoft man fined over pollution risk

A HUTTOFT man was convicted at Skegness Magistrates’ Court for breaching environmental regulations last Wednesday (May 4).

Keith Ashbridge of Alford Road, Huttoft, had been storing waste vehicles and parts on land which is in a protected area for a public water supply borehole. Several visits were made by the Environment Agency in 2010 and gradual improvements were made to the site. But there was also evidence which indicated regular and continuing breaches of the site’s environmental permit.

Ashbridge was fined £4,500 and ordered to pay full costs of £5,800.
