A SPILSBY school’s burgeoning eco credentials have taken another leap forward after they installed solar panels at their site.

The King Edward VI Humanities College already boasts a strong green ethos following the creation of its Eco-Barn, which features everything from ‘mud’ walls and wool insulation.

But they’ve added another string to their eco-friendly bow after installing the new panels.

“Our school was successful in the British Gas ‘mySolar School’ programme and we have recently had free solar panels installed on our roof,” said a spokesperson for the college.

“The solar panels are really important for our school as they will help us reduce both carbon emissions and cut down on our annual energy costs.

“Importantly they will also help us show our pupils the value of using energy sparingly.”
