Pupils at Halton Holegate Primary School experienced a close encounter with some fascinating animals.

hildren were treated to a series of wildlife workshops when Zoolab visited the school recently.

All three classes got to learn about a range of creatures, some cute and cuddly and some a little less so, as the Zoolab ranger, Barry Anderson, led three 45 minute sessions which involved handling the animals as well.

The children impressed Barry with their knowledge, but still learnt plenty about such creatures as a giant millipede, corn snake, a Madagascan hissing cockroach and his favourite collection of female rats.
