Overnight snow has forced widespread school closures and the cancellation of several events.
Lincolnshire County Council has announced the closure of around 50 schools including eight from the Standard’s region.
Greet Steeping Primary School, Partney Primary School, Skegness Grammar School, Eresby School, Spilsby Primary School, King Edward VI Academy, Lady Jane Franklin School and Halton Holegate Primary School, are among those currently closed due to the snow.
Lincolnshire Regional College has also announced that its courses in health and social care, carpentry and joinery, automotive, and child care have all been cancelled.
Other academy schools in the region may have also closed, although they have not announced their status on the county council’s website.
The Greenwood Dale Foundation Trust, which runs Skegness Academy, Skegness Infants and Juniors and Ingoldmells Academy, has been asked for the status of its schools and is expected to reply shortly.
Spilsby Market has also been cancelled after East Lindsey District Council struggled to put the stalls up and a number of traders pulled out.
Skegness weatherman Brian Porter recorded weekend temperatures of between minus one and plus three degrees - far milder than the minus six he had recorded last week.
The Met Office has forecasted light snow and sleet to continue today, with strong winds, particularly along the coast.
