A fire and rescue service team visited Beacon Primary Academy in Skegness as part of a school topic called People Who Help.
The children enjoyed seeing the fire engine and listening and taking part in the workshop. They were shown the equipment used to tackle fires, equipment the fire-fighters use and how to stay safe if a fire was to break out. The children had been focusing on the fire service all week as part of the hands on learning approach at the school.
The focus this week is the armed forces, launching this work, pupils had a visit from a soldier in the army. He explained the role of a solider and how they work together to keep others safe across the world. The children enjoyed looking at his uniform and having the opportunity to ask questions.
Future weeks will focus on medical services, including visits from a doctor, a paramedic and a dentist and the police.
