Pupils and staff at the Wainfleet Hall residence at Skegness Grammar School have enjoyed a weekend of celebration for Chinese New Year.

The hall was decorated with lanterns, Chinese couplets and a dragon. Festivities centred around food, with traditional steamed rice balls and rice cake eaten on Saturday night, and a Chinese banquet on Sunday.

Helen Nuttall, house-parent, said: “It is a time when, as boarders, our Chinese pupils may really miss being with their families, so we were determined to make the celebration as much like being at home as possible!”
