THE pupils of Skegness Grammar School wowed audiences with their version of ‘The Sound of Music’ last week.

The Music and Drama departments worked on this joint venture to produce this very popular show, which played to full houses.

“The lead role was sung by Emily Fossitt who was a very convincing Maria and George Damms played Captain Von Trapp with great authority,” said a spokesperson.

“Credit must be given to all the singers and actors, particularly those playing the nuns and the Von Trapp children, and also to the orchestra whose rendition of the well-known score had the audience humming.

“A member of the audience remarked that the show was “absolutely brilliant. It’s so nice to have been part of it. Every character played their part to the full, well done.”

It was the first show produced by Miss Walker who joined the Drama Department at the beginning of the academic year.
