Skegness Academy welcomed the latest addition to its expanding family of affiliated primary schools with a successful open afternoon last week.

Pupils from Mablethorpe Primary Academy journeyed down the coast to meet staff and enjoy some of the fabulous new facilities on offer at the centre on Burgh Road, Skegness, on Friday.

Acting principal Ian Corns said: “We were delighted to welcome the pupils from Mablethorpe Primary Academy and look forward to their participation in future events and indeed a successful transition to Skegness Academy when they embark on their secondary education.”

The afternoon, which saw pupils participate in a range of fun activities including trampolining, archery and an exciting science experiment, has been hailed as a resounding success.

Mablethorpe Primary Academy was the latest in a long line of local primary schools to join the Greenwood Dale Foundation Trust - a group of 12 academies educating more than 9000 pupils in Skegness, Mablethorpe, Ingoldmells, Houghton Regis, Northampton, Nottingham, Mansfield and Peterborough.
