Skegness Academy appeals English GCSE results

Skegness Academy will not be releasing overall GCSE results today (Thursday) to the media after asking for its students’ English GCSE papers to be re-marked.

A statement from the Greenwood Dale Foundation Trust, which sponsors the school, said: “The Skegness Academy is not able to report its GCSE results for this year as they have identified a significant issue with the English marks and so are requesting a re-mark. They have provided re-assurance that this issue will not jeopardise any pupils who intend to stay on into the sixth form.”

Students at the school sat English GCSE papers set by the WJEC (Welsh) examination board.
