Schools in Alford challenge
OVER 100 pupils from 20 local primary schools flocked to Alford last week for a special enterprise challenge.
John Spendluffe Technology College hosted its Killer Coaster Enterprise Challenge Day last Tuesday.
The competition tested students’ ability to design and make the most exciting theme park in the world – but they had to ensure they were not owners of a “Killer Coaster”.
Teams had to use their skills, imagination and problem solving ability to design and build their rollercoasters and theme park.
They calculated the forces and energies experienced by passengers on rides.
The winning team was Halton Holegate Primary who accumulated over 90,000 points throughout the day. In second place were Toynton All Saints and third place went to Skegness Richmond Primary. Each member received a winners medal, a trophy from the school and a box of chocolates.
This event is one of several taking place throughout the year with local primary schools.
