Minister praises Withern school
Staff, pupils and governors at St Margaret’s CE Primary School at Withern near Alford are celebrating after receiving a letter of praise from the Minister for Schools, David Laws MP.
The letter was sent congratulating the school on being ‘one of the top performing primary schools’ in 2012.
Following the school’s 100 per cent success in the Key Stage 2 tests Mr Laws wrote to congratulate ‘staff, governors and pupils for their hard work and success.’
As well 100 per cent of St Margaret’s pupils achieving level 4+ the overall attainment level of pupils meant that the school among the best performing primary schools in the Louth, Alford and coastal schools area.
“We were very pleased to receive the letter,” said head teacher James Siddle. “Our greatest asset is our pupils – they are simply brilliant.
“We are very proud of their achievements and it was pleasing to receive this letter from central government acknowledging the outstanding progress the children have made here in Withern,” he added.
