The Greenwood Dale Foundation have confirmed that Skegness Academy principal, Ian Corns, has resigned for ‘personal reasons’.

Appointed to the role in July 2012, Mr Corns had been an English teacher, head of department and senior leader at the Skegness Academy and its predecessor schools, St Clement’s College and The Earl of Scarborough High, since 1992.

He handed in his letter of resignation today (Wednesday, March, 5).

In the meantime, Deputy Principal, Elizabeth Sylvester will take over as acting principal with immediate effect, until further notice.

Letters have today been sent out to parents and guardians informing them of the decision.
