Year six students at Friskney All Saints COE (Aided) Primary School have been busy with a project to refurbish the school library.
There aim is to make turn the library into a more inviting space where children can be inspired to read for years to come.
The Year six students raised the funds themselves to decorate the library with a variety of fundraising activities.
The grand opening of the space is due to take place in September 2014.
After a sneak preview, the school’s Parents and Teacher Association have said ‘it is looking fantastic already’
The school’s PTA Committee, known as the FUN Association have also raised funds towards stocking the library full of books.
Through various events, including a car wash, a table top sale and the village show, the FUN Committee were able to present the year six students with a cheque of £500, which will all be spent on books.
The Tiger mascot of the Association has been at all the fundraising events and the mascot now also has a name after the children took part in a competition.
The winning name pulled out of the hat was Frederick and lucky student Alexander Scott was presented with a National Book Token voucher.
