Years three and four at Skegness’s Richmond school had a visit from an Elizabethan musician recently.

Dressed as an Elizabethan musician for the day, Dante Fererra, from Lincoln, worked with pupils as part of their topic studying life in Tudor times.

Dante brought along a selection of replica Tudor instruments and played them for the pupils.

He explained how they worked and sang a song which the children joined in with.

He taught eight children from each year group a simple dance popular in Tudor times and shared interesting facts about Tudor times, such as, how they made glue to stick the wood together, which they then used to make instruments.

He also told the children how they used animal gut to make the strings.
