John Spendluffe Technology College, Alford, hosted a tag rugby primary festival for five local primary schools
The 70 primary pupils spent an enjoyable morning being coached by the JSTC student leaders, who had recently completed a rugby football union referee and leader’s course.
The coaching included tag rugby-based drills and skills and the knowledge of the rules of this mini game.
During the afternoon St Helena’s of Willoughby, Partney, St Andrews of Woodhall Spa, Seathorne Primary and Sutton on Sea Primary schools competed in a tag rugby festival officiated by the JSTC students.
The overall winners of the competition were Woodhall Spa.
Partney Primary School finished in second place.
Both of these schools will go through to the next round of the competition in Sleaford, to attempt to qualify for the School Games.
The JSTC leaders were from years nine, 10 and 11 were Caitlin Thompson, Hollie Simpson, Reece Walsh,
Noah Best, Kirsten Medland, Sam Woodward, Bradley McGilloway, Luke Scott, Abigail Saddington, Scott Simpson, Jamie Thomas, Lewis Reeson, Holly Medland, Perry Burton, Joe Green, John Taylor,
Emily Abbott, Archie Paul, Alun Bowen and Ben Hawkins.
These students have now been invited to referee at the county stage of the competition in Sleaford.
This is an excellent achievement.
