A new school has taken the first steps to become part of the local community before the bricks and mortar that build it begin to take shape.

Building work has started on the Skegness Beacon Primary Academy and will be completed before the first new intake of pupils in September this year.

However, to ensure prospective parents and staff are kept informed and up to date about its progress, the school has launched a new website and its first post is a message from its first headteacher, which sets out its aims and principles.

Corinna Wright, currently assistant principle at Skegness Junior Academy, writes: “I believe that children need to explore their environment, including their local community.

This provides opportunities for them to make the links between their learning and the skills needed in our day-to-day lives. ‘Real’ learning stays with children and this will form a major part of our new and inspiring curriculum. If you would like your child to be a part of this Academy, please be prepared to be involved in their learning journey every step of the way. This is an exciting adventure for you and your child to experience together.”
