The chamber choir from Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School in Alford presented festive hampers to visitors of Alford Day Centre in the build-up to Christmas.

Forms also entertained those present.

The hampers included gingerbread houses, a Coca Cola vehicle and even a penguin.

The elderly at the Day Centre really appreciated the wonderful gifts and the students enjoyed the opportunity to join in the festivities at the Day Centre.

Headteacher, Miss Angie Francis, said: “It is important that our students have the opportunity to work with the local community. Students visit the Day Centre each Thursday lunchtime and have formed friendships with the elderly who attend.

“Form groups thoroughly enjoy designing and making up the Christmas hampers and it is a real pleasure to go down to the Day Centre to give them our gifts.”
