Drama students gained insights into their stage craft during a visit from a professional theatre company to Skegness Grammar School.
Peregrine Theatre Company hosted two workshops based on renowned theatre and film director Peter Brooke’s practice and devising theatre.
School improvement leader for visual and performing arts Lorraine Walker said: “The Year 11, 12 and 13 students relished in the experience, explored new devising methods and thoroughly enjoyed pushing their physical boundaries.”
Student Jessica O’Callaghan said the experience had introduced her to an intriguing new style of theatre. “Having studied drama for only a short time, the workshop opened up a vast range of opportunities,” she said.
“As I was told, ‘there are no small actors, only small parts’. This showed me the importance of even the slightest movements and developed my confidence, when performing. The workshop was amazingly helpful and a lot of fun.”
