STUDENTS from the John Spendluffe Technology College in Alford popped along to the town’s Manor House recently for an evening celebrating their academic success.
The event honoured students across Key Stages 3 and 4 in all curriculum areas, before then shifting attention towards the coveted House prize winners.
The headteacher Mr Beverley hailed the wide range of achievements that the students have accrued over the year, including the best ever GCSE results.
Savannah Le Man, Molly Mae Hall and Sharon Turner also entertained the parents and guests through music, dance and a monologue adding to a delightful evening with celebrating student potential as the focus.
The evening’s prizes were presented by Tom Cawthorn an ex-student of JSTC who went on to take a degree and teacher training and is now currently teaching in Liverpool. Mr Cawthorn has maintained his strong links with JSTC and returns regularly to support the high profile Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.
The evening continued with a chance to meet parents and enjoy refreshments in a pleasant setting with musical accompaniment from Alford Silver Band.
