Academy short-listed for award
Skegness Academy has been shortlisted for an award for enhancing its commitment to providing sporting opportunities to its students.
The Burgh Road school is one of three finalists in the State School of the Year category of the Aviva/Telegraph School Sport Matters Awards 2012.
During a time when school funding cuts have seen many schools reduce their sporting offer, the academy has ‘significantly enchanced school sport’ by appointing four fulltime PE staff in the local community.
