EMPLOYMENT opportunities on the coastal strip have been boosted through a building society’s donation to help a charity find jobs for local people.

Nottingham Building Society donated £1,100 from its ‘Doing Good Together’ fund to The Boatshed at its Lumley Road branch recently.

A spokesperson for the building society said: “The fund is to support worthwhile local causes and with the employment problems posed by the seasonal nature of jobs available on the coast we felt the Boatshed was a cause worthy of our support.”

The donation will enable The Boatshed to assist job-seekers with CV preparations and interview techniques at a jobs fair in Mablethorpe this Friday attended by 21 local businesses with around 150 vacant positions. The charity successfully helped match more than 400 job seekers with available jobs at the same event last year.
