East Lindsey District Council has announced £235,000 of funding for local community projects.
AS part of the District Council’s revamped Community Grant Scheme, £235,000 of funding has been made available to support community projects in the 2014-15 financial year.
There are two types of grant available, to formally governed, not for profit organisations and community groups.
For smaller, easy to deliver projects, groups can apply direct to their Ward Councillor for a Councillor Community Grant of up to £1,000.
Each East Lindsey District Coun has an annual allowance of £2,000.
For larger projects where a greater amount of funding is required, Community Grants of up to £8,000 are available to meet up to 50 percent of the total cost.
Portfolio Holder for Communities, Coun Sandra Harrison, said: “The Community Grants provide a way for the Council to support a wide variety of projects within local communities, all of which make a huge difference to residents, especially in the current financial climate. Anyone who is interested in finding out more can attend one of our workshops which will give advice and help with filling in application forms. I look forward to helping to support many more projects over the coming year.”
The workshops have been arranged to help those who wish to submit an application for funding and will take place at Mablethorpe CAP on April 22, from 7-8.30pm, Chapel St Leonards Village Hall on April 23, from noon-1.30pm, St Matthew’s Church, Skegness on April 23, from 7-8.30pm, Horncastle Sports Pavilion on April 25, from 7-8.30pm, Meridian Leisure Centre, Louth on April 26, from 10-11.30am, Holton le Clay Parish Council Office, on April 28, from 7-8.30pm, and Sibsey Village Hall on April 30, from 7-8.30pm.
