Families hoping to uncover the forgotten secrets of their ancestral past have been invited to attend an informative open day offering advice on carrying out research.
The Lincolnshire Archives will be opening its vaults for a free ‘Family History Day’ on Saturday, June 15, offering access to the county’s store of historical records.
“With hundreds of thousands of documents spanning six miles of shelves and more than 1,000 years, Lincolnshire Archives could hold the key to your family’s hidden history,” said Lincolnshire County Council’s cultural services advisor, Ellen Cross.
“Our experts will be on hand to explain how to use our records to delve a little deeper.”
The event runs from 10.30am until 3pm.
