Vulnerable and elderly being targeted by female thief in Winthorpe area of Skegness, police warn

Police in Skegness have urged the public to keep an eye out for their elderly and vulnerable neighbours after a female thief began targeting them in the Winthorpe area.

The woman, who is in her late 30s or early 40s, has allegedly been befriending vulnerable men and then stealing items from their homes.

PC Kate Woods said: “This is a police appeal for help and also neighbour vigilance primarily within the Winthorpe area.

“I have received a reports that a female is targeting vulnerable and elderly males through means of befriending them, in some cases offering certain favours in return for cash and that items have been stolen from their houses.

“The female is described as a white female, brown/reddish hair, within late 30s/early 40s and of slim build.

“The neighbourhood policing team take these reports very seriously. If you have concerns for yourself, relative or neighbour then please contact us on 101,” she added.
