UPDATED: Missing Ingoldmells dementia sufferer found

A DEMENTIA sufferer who went missing on Friday, sparking an urgent police search, has been found safe.

George Turland, 79, disappeared from his home in Windsor House, Ingoldmells at around 4pm on August 10.

His disappearance sparked an extensive search, which included the use of the Nottinghamshire Police helicopter and volunteers from Louth Search and Rescue Dogs.

Fortunately the searchers have now found George and police issued an update at 3.50pm today (Saturday) to say he was safe and being checked over in a local hospital.

A police spokesperson said: “George has been found safe in the local area and has been taken to hospital for a check up. Many thanks to everyone for their assistance in this matter.”
