POLICE in Spilsby have released CCTV images of two suspects in a distraction theft at the town’s Sainsbury’s store.

And the force has warned other shops across the area to be vigilant for scammers trying to defraud their own stores.

The theft in Spilsby occurred on August 25.

“Distraction techniques were used to confuse till staff when changing fifty pound notes into smaller denominations, leaving the till approximately £200 short,” said a police spokesperson.

PC Paula Young has released CCTV images of two women she would like to trace who may be able to assist with the investigation.

They are described as being aged in their late 20s, of Asian appearance and had strong foreign accents.

Anyone with information should contact PC Young by dialling 101 and quoting ‘incident 382 of August 25’.
