Police warn householders following increase in break-ins as nights draw in
Police have urged local residents to review their security as the lights draw in, following a surge in burglaries across the county.
With thieves taking advantage of the earlier hours of darkness, community safety inspector Phil Baker has advised homeowners to take a number of simple steps to protect their property.
He said: “The best way to do this is to buy some timer switches and set them to come on in rooms at the front and back of the house in the early evening. They’re available from most DIY shops these day.”
