Police renew appeal over serious assault

POLICE in Skegness have renewed an appeal for information after it emerged that a serious assault in the town centre occured in a different location from that originally highlighted by the force.

An 18-year-old from Staffordshire needed a metal plate surgically attached to his jaw after his jaw was broken in two places.

The attack took place between midnight and 2am on Friday, August 5.

Police initially reported that the attack had taken place inside the LA Cafe in Lumley Road. However, it has since transpired that the attack happened outside in the vicinity of the Clock Tower and not in the nearby nightclub.

The victim was punched in the face and then kicked while on the ground, breaking his jaw in two places.

His attackers were part of a group but he is unable to provide more detail or descriptions.

Anyone with information should contact PC Gary Hill at Skegness CID on 0300 111 0300 and quote incident 263 of August 5 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
