Police are re-appealing for witnesses after a mum of two was seriously injured in a hit and run in Chapel St Leonards.

The victim is now recovering at home but suffered a number of fractures and may be left with permanent injury.

The 27 year-old woman was walking along St Leonards Drive with her dog and two children (aged 2 1/2 and 18 months) shortly before 1pm on Monday February 29.

Near to the junction with Palmer Court, the woman had cause to step off the pavement and was struck by an unknown vehicle travelling west along St Leonards Drive.

The woman was able to continue walking for a few meters to call for help and was later taken to Boston Pilgrim Hospital, where her condition is described as serious but stable.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has any information about the vehicle or driver involved, is asked to contact PC James Latto by dialling 101 and quoting incident number 151 of 29th February.
