Police competition to promote community messaging alerts

Lincolnshire Police’s Community Safety Department has dropped its normal professional image to capture people’s attention to try and promote the Lincs Alert Community Messaging System.

There are now over 10,000 people in the county signed up and receiving crime alerts and information.

Leading up to Christmas many alerts have been sent out warning people regarding leaving presents and valuables on display in their cars, general crime prevention advice for the winter nights, the Christmas Crime Menu brochure and information and advice over frauds and scams which are currently circulating.

Gillian Fleet one of the coordinators for the system recommends Lincs Alert for everybody. “The more people that are signed up the better,” she stated.

“The system allows us to communicate very effectively and easily with our communities. People can choose to sign up for e mail alerts or text messages.

“It is free of charge and you are able to unsubscribe at any time. We are able to get valuable information quickly out to our communities whether that is sent out by the headquarters team or the Local Policing Teams.”

To subscribe visit the website www.lincsalert.co.uk and click the register now button. Or alternatively if you need help with registering contact 01522 558399 and speak to the administrator.

As an incentive the Community Safety Department are putting anyone who registers before January 6 into a prize draw to win a Police Teddy Bear and Crime Prevention goodies including a calendar, timer switch and Police Property Marking Kit.
