Police appeal for more volunteers

POLICE in Lincolnshire have appealed for volunteers who have an interest in the community and in police work.

The Lincolnshire Police Special Constabulary is now recruiting in the East Lindsey area.

The force promises that a wealth of interesting opportunities awaits those people who are appointed as Special Constables.

Steve Woodcock, Special Chief Officer, said: “As a Special Constable, there is a chance to meet people from a variety of backgrounds in an even wider range of situations.

“Officers learn much about human nature, teamwork, and increase their ability to cope with the unexpected.”

Special Constables are part of the local policing team, and voluntarily work alongside officers of the regular force, and with other experienced Specials.

raining on appointment involves an induction course at the Force Headquarters, followed by an ongoing training programme delivered on a local basis.

To be eligible for appointment as a Special Constable, persons must be aged over 18 years. Visit www.lincs.police.uk/Join-Us/Special-Constables to find out more about the eligibility criteria.

An opportunity exists for interested persons to find out more at a Recruiting Seminar to be held at Boston Police Station on Thursday (October 11) at 7pm.
