Metal thieves risking lives in Skegness after they target home electricity and gas boxes

Police are urging Skegness residents to check their electricity and gas boxes, following a spate of theft of earthing wire. Once this wire is removed, it can be very dangerous.

Six properties were targeted in one night on Finisterre Avenue and there have also been reports of suspicious activity in other areas of Skegness.

Anyone who thinks their electricity or gas box has been tampered with should contact an electrician immediately to get it fixed.

This should be reported to Lincolnshire Police via 101, as should any other suspicious activity in Skegness or any other area in the county.
