Man arrested following commercial burglaries in Ingoldmells and Lincoln

Police have arrested a 26 year-old man in connection with two commercial burglaries in Ingoldmells and Lincoln.

Officers were called to a supermarket on a caravan park in Anchor Lane, Ingoldmells, shortly after 11pm last night (Thursday) after the alarm was activated at the premises.

A rock was used to smash a window at the shop and a quantity of cigarettes were stolen from inside.

At approx 1.15pm in the early hours of this morning (Friday), two men forced open the door of the BP petrol station on Wragby Road in North Greetwell, Lincoln, and stole a quantity of cigarettes and alcohol.

“Police pursued a Toyota Corrolla as far as the Pennells roundabout in Lincoln, where the occupants decamped,” said a spokesperon for Lincolnshire Police.

“A 26 year-old man from the vehicle was arrested on suspicion of burglary and is currently being interviewed at Lincoln police station. Enquiries are continuing this morning,” they added.
