A MAN alleged to have ‘smashed a glass’ into a another pub reveller’s face and then ‘bitten off his ear’, has been sent for trial at Lincoln Crown Court.

Mr Scott Reid, 40, of Listen Way, Woodford Green, London, appeared before Skegness Magistrates’ Court this morning (Tuesday).

He is alleged to have been involved in an ‘unprovoked attack’ on Mr Sean Pettit on March 31 in a Skegness pub.

Prosecuting, Joyce Martin told the court it was a serious unprovoked attack where Reid was alleged to have smashed a glass in the face of Sean Pettit and when trying to stop the attack, Reid allegedly then bit part of Mr Pettit’s ear, leaving him permanently scared.

No application for bail was made in the situation and magistrates stated that they could not deal with the matter and sent him to Lincoln Crown Court.

Reid will appear at Lincoln Crown Court on May 22 and was remanded in custody.
