A THUG who bit off part of a man’s ear in a “horrific” and “savage” attack in a Skegness pub has been sent to prison for almost seven-and-a-half years.
Scott Reid, 41, of Listen Way, Woodford Green, London, was sentenced by a judge at Lincoln Crown Court yesterday (Thursday).
Reid was involved in an unprovoked attack in a Skegness pub on March 31, smashing a glass in the face of his victim Sean Pettit, before biting off part of Mr Pettit’s ear.
Police in Lincolnshire have moved to thank the witnesses who came forward and help to secure the conviction.
DC Michael Parsons, from Skegness CID, said, “The victim of this horrific attack is recovering well but will always have physical and mental scars from the incident.
“I would like to thank those members of the public who contacted the police in response to the appeal on ITV’s ‘This Morning’ programme and who helped identify the offender so he could be brought before the court and received this sentence, which reflects the savagery of the assault”.
