Images of a second man police believe may be linked with Monday’s attempted ‘armed robbery’ in Skegness have been released.

The man was pictured on CCTV waiting outside The Money Shop on Lumley Road while another threatened staff with a ‘gun-like’ weapon inside the store.

“It is thought that a second man, who waited outside the shop, may also be involved in the incident,” said a police spokesperson.

Police carried out a ‘firearms response’ to the incident shortly after 10am, which left staff ‘shaken’ but unhurt.

Images of the first male suspect described as being white, of slim build, wearing a black and grey striped top underneath a black jacket and black woolly hat were released after the incident. Further images of that man without a hat have also now been released (see left).

The second man was wearing a dark top, trousers and shoes and has short dark hair.

Detectives investigating the incident arrested a 47-year-old local man shortly before 5pm on Monday afternoon. He was interviewed and released on police bail until August 9.
