A FAMILY has been left devastated after their beloved pet dog was taken during a busy Saturday in Skegness.
The fawn-coloured chihuahua known as Pocket, was tied up outside Oscar’s in Lumley Road while her devoted owner went inside.
A man was seen loitering outside the shop before untying the dog and walking off with it along the same road at 1.40pm on Saturday July 2.
Jodie Carr, owner from East Leake, said: “It is like taking one of your family. My three children are really upset that she is gone.
“My initial thought was oh my god where is she? She wouldn’t just go, if anything, she would have come into the shop.”
A number of CCTV images have been released of a man who the police are wishing to trace in connection with the incident.
Jodie added: “When I came out of the shop people did comment that they had seen the man take her and they didn’t think it was his but they didn’t want to approach him incase it was.”
The man is described as white, of medium build and with dark hair. He was also wearing a green top.
The one-year-old female chihauhau was wearing a pink diamante collar when taken and she is microchipped.
A reward is also being offered for any information which leads to the return of Pocket.
Jodie added: “If they decide not to return her, I just hope they are kind to her.”
