CRIME levels reported in East Lindsey have shown a marked decrease in nearly all categories over the past year.
Inspector Terry Ball announced the new figures at a Skegness Town Council meeting on Thursday.
Despite an slight increase of 1.8 per cent in the total number of crimes reported, all major crimes including violent crimes, criminal damage, and anti-social behaviour have decreased.
There was a particularly significant reduction in thefts of and from motor vehicles and Inspector Ball was also happy to report some successful arrests involving forensic identification.
The growing trend in criminal activity is toward commercial burglaries.
