RESIDENTS in and around Skegness will get the chance to give their belongings extra protection from thieves at an event this weekend.
Members of Skegness Crime Prevention Panel, the police and the Hildreds Centre will be holding a property post coding and information session outside the front of the Hildreds Centre on Saturday (January 14) from 10am to 2pm.
“Experienced members will be on hand to give free crime reduction advice regarding both personal and property safety together with handouts and information leaflets,” said a spokesperson for the panel.
“To aide the police in the identification of stolen property and returning it to the rightful owner they will also mark property by way of post coding items such as mobile phones, pedal cycles, sat-navs and other small items of IT equipment which can be easily lost or stolen, for free. New Christmas presents can be marked to help keep safe.
“In return for property being post coded we have a limited number of exciting ghostly reflective danglers, to be attached to zips on outer clothing and accessories to give away, but only after a piece of property has been post coded,” they added.
Call in at the session for advice on keeping your property safe.
