Police in the Chapel St Leonards and Ingoldmells area have warned speeding motorists that they conduct regular radar gun speed checks in the area.
The warning comes after a “number of reports” of vehicles tearing through villages above the limit.
The local force have also moved to reassure local residents that they are keeping a close eye on the area’s roads.
A spokesperson from the Ingoldmells Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “We have received a small number of reports of vehicles speeding through our local villages.
“Just to re-assure local residents we deploy the speed indication device at various hot spot locations within our beat, on a regular basis, which acts as a very good deterrent.
“In addition, we also carry out regular speed checks using the speed gun device which has proved successful in educating drivers, making them more aware, and dealing with them accordingly.
“This is an ongoing exercise that we wish to make residents aware is in place.
“If however you have any further concerns please do not hesitate to contact us,” the added.
