Chapel chip shop staff foil bat wielding robber

A BASEBALL bat wielding would-be robber left a Chapel St Leonards chip shop empty handed when the woman serving refused his demands for money.

A man in his teens or twenties, wearing a black hoodie entered the chip shop on Trunch Lane at around 9pm on Wednesday.

He demanded money from the woman serving, but left empty handed when she refused to open the till.

It is thought a two other men were waiting outside for the offender during the attempted robbery.

DC Becky Manson would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have seen anything suspicious.
