Dogs in the Skegness area could become the most pampered in the district with the opening of a second new grooming salon in Spilsby.

Pip’s Parlour in the Cornhill was opened this morning by the Mayor of Spilsby Coun Gill Rymer with a special bucks fizz reception

Named after the owner’s nine-month-old King Charles Spaniel, Alison Lindon admitted she had had a sleepless night about her new venture.

Alison, 25, moved to Spilsby where her parents live from Buckinghamshire six weeks ago. She said: “I’ve been working with animals since I left school at 16 but I was feeling homesick and this shop was perfect for me.

“My dad has helped me decorate it ready for today and I’m looking forward to getting started.”

Coun Rymer said: “I said when i became Mayor that I wanted to see more of the empty shops in Spilsby filled and this is fantastic. There’s nothing like it in the town and I wish Alison every success.”
