A coastal tourism business is celebrating winning a seventh consecutive David Bellamy Gold Award for conservation.

Skegness Water Leisure Park was one of only 530 holiday parks across the UK to receive the accolade.

The award is presented by the BHHPA (The British Holiday & Home Parks Association) to businesses that take care of the environment and wildlife.

Parks are judged on four main factors - wildlife management, reducing use of energy, water and other resources, recycling and supporting local communities.

A company spokesman said: “The Skegness Water Leisure Park team are over the moon with the fact all their hard work and effort to maintain the surrounding natural environment has not gone unnoticed for another year.

“The team were also delighted to receive the Honey Bee Friendly Park award, and with plans to introduce a nature trail to the up coming South Fields development we have a feeling these won’t be the last awards to head to Skegness Water Leisure Park over the coming years.”
