Summer events planned at local leisure facilities

With schools about to break up for the summer you can find a host of activities at East Lindsey District Council-run leisure facilities in Louth, Mablethorpe, Skegness and Horncastle.

From July 24 to September 4 there will be a host of activities for children, and the whole family, to enjoy.

Skegness’ Embassy Pool and Fitness Centre encourage families to join in and enjoy all the fun and games in the pool, including inflatable sessions, gym kids sessions and family fun splash sessions.

At the Embassy Theatre, Skegness youngsters aged 7-19 can take part in a Summer Theatre Academy Workshop from July 21 – August 1 and there will also be a craft fair on August 3.

Shows during the summer include family favourites the Chuckle Brothers, Wrestling Summer Superslam Special, Irish dancing spectacular Rhythm of the Dance, Good Old Days of Music Hall and Variety, rock-n-roll show That’ll be the Day, Dancing Queen – The Concert, Janice Sutton’s Musical Express and comic Jimmy Carr to entertain the adults.

Further afield in East Lindsey, Horncastle Swimming Pool and Fitness Suite will allow swimmers to take advantage of the giant pool inflatable, water walkerz and family splash time, alongside regular swimming sessions.

The Meridian Leisure Centre in Louth will offer a holiday camp delivered by Multi-Sport Pro, as well as fun both in and out of the pool including snorkelling, a bouncy castle, trampolining, basketball, badminton, lifeguard taster sessions, zorb-balling, table tennis, rounders, pool inflatables, tri-golf and lots more.

At Mablethorpe’s Station Sports Centre youngsters can take part in a whole host of fun and games including multi-sports, athletics, trampolining, bat and racquet sports and organised games.

With long warm days ahead you may want to visit the open air paddling pools at Queen’s Park in Mablethorpe; by the Pullover in Sutton on Sea or off South Parade in Skegness.

They remain open until September 30, weather permitting.
