Father Terry Steele was at Skegness fire station today (Thursday, August 7) as they welcomed the arrival of a new Ariel Ladder Platform (ALP).

New appliances are traditionally blessed at Skegness and other east division stations.

Father Terry gave a prayer and blessing to the new ALP and the fire crews at Skegness.

A spokesman for the station said: “This ceremony is welcomed by the crews and marks an important introduction to the station and community of Lincolnshire of this vital lifesaving appliance and the personnel who crew it.”

Deputy Divisional Commander Jason Lawley, Crew Manager John Barke and Ricky Clarke and firefighters Darren White and Dan Vines were in attendance for the ceremony, as well as Father Terry’s companion Murray the dog.
