Landlords and tenants can attend ‘drop-in’ event in Skegness next week for advice, guidance and support about their properties.
Members of East Lindsey District Council’s Housing Standards Team will be at Hildreds Shopping Centre, 10am to 1pm on Thursday, September 4.
The team are available to provide information, including useful literature and promoting the DASH Landlord Accreditation scheme, recognising the work of good landlords.
Portfolio holder for housing, Coun William Gray, said: “We hope landlords and tenants both take the opportunity to come and talk to the team. Landlords have a vitally important role in the community and through the event we want to encourage more landlords to subscribe to the free DASH Landlord Accreditation Scheme. With the increasing importance of the private rented sector in providing homes, the council has a duty to ensure that homes being let are decent and that landlords are trustworthy and work within the law. That’s where accreditation becomes a valuable tool.”
Landlords who sign up to DASH are awarded a quality mark for demonstrating their skills in property and tenant management. Those successfully subscribing benefit from ongoing advice and guidance as well as a variety of financial discounts. In addition, landlords that become members of the scheme become part of a support network that provides a comprehensive resource library, newsletters and alerts on forthcoming events and information, such as changes in legislation.
Landlords can apply directly by visiting www.dashservices.org.uk or calling 01332 640324.
