As families look for some fun in the sun this Bank Holiday week, the District Council’s open air swimming pool, paddling pools and beach chalets will all be open to the public.

For those with little ones who like to splash about in the water the District Council’s three open air paddling pools can be found at Queen’s Park in Mablethorpe; by the Pullover in Sutton on Sea and off South Parade in Skegness.

They will open on Friday, May 23 and remain open until September 30, weather permitting.

For a swim in the sunshine, the Embassy outdoor pool will open for the Spring Bank holiday week, from Saturday, May 24, to Sunday, June 1 and will then open weekends only, until June 29, from 10am-4pm.

It will then remain open until September 7, from 10am-6pm daily.

And, for those wanting somewhere to relax during their day on the beach, the District Council’s 71 beach chalets at Central Promenade and Queen’s Park, Mablethorpe, and Sutton on Sea Central Promenade will open on Saturday, May 24 until the end of September.

The Council’s Portfolio Holder for Culture, Leisure and Tourism, Councillor Adam Grist said: “With the warmer weather predicted for the next few weeks, we are now concentrating on the forthcoming, important, tourist season, marked by the opening of our open air pool, paddling pools and beach chalets”

“Many local small businesses rely on the seasonal trade for their livelihood so it is important to draw visitors to the area and offer them a reason to come to the coast for the benefit of the local economy and to support the creation of jobs. The paddling pools are also great for families in the area to have a great day out for free,” he added.

Beach chalets can be hired for an afternoon, day, week, weekend, or entire summer season.
