Members of Skegness Hospital Watch visited the Co-op in Chapel St Leonards on Wednesday, July 9, to receive a cheque for £827.52 from the Co-op Community Champions Awards.

The funds were raised in June in both the Chapel St Leonards and Roman Bank stores.

Chairman of Hospital Watch Eddie Gassion thanked the Store Managers Glynn Betts (Chapel St Leonards) and Ruby Hope (Roman Bank, Skegness) for their kind support and advised that the funds would go towards vital diagnostic equipment to be based at Skegness Hospital.

The new equipment will mean patients will be diagnosed locally for a range of conditions and this will avoid long trips to Boston and Lincoln.

Chief Hospital Watch Fundraiser Geoff Poulter said: “We are very grateful to the Co-op and members of the public for their support as we continue to raise funds for our local hospital”.

The next meeting of Skegness Hospital Watch will be held on Thursday, July 17, at 7pm at The Crown Hotel, Drummond Road, Skegness and all are Welcome.
