Girlguiding is calling on residents of Burgh, Spilsby, Wainfleet and surrounding villages to spare some time and allow local girls and young women the chance to enjoy their activities.

Girlguiding offers a wide range of activities for young women to take part in, as well as acquiring new skills and experiences along the way.

Girlguiding in the area is currently seeking adult volunteers to give their time to support local groups.

There are a huge number of opportunities to get involved in, in addition to working directly with groups.

Local branches have places available at Rainbows for girls, aged 5-7 years, Brownies for girls, aged 7-10 years and Guides for girls aged 10-14 years.

Local groups say they will also hopefully have a Senior Section for girls, aged 14 and above starting in the near future.

The organisation is hugely popular, with more than half a million members and volunteers around the UK with a range of flexible volunteering opportunities available to enable girls and young women to grow in confidence and discover their full potential in a safe, girl-only space.

Visit the guides at Friskney show on Sunday, June, 8 for further information, visit www.girlguiding.org.uk or call 0800 169 5901.

District Commissioner Trina Harris can also be contacted on 01754 820022 evenings and weekends for anybody interested in joining.
