The annual event, organised by the Rotary District 1270, comprises of 42 different clubs in that area, North to Beverley, West to Hallam, East to Hornsea and South to Woodhall Spa.

A coach transported the group amd members of Spilsby and Horncastle Rotary Club’s to the games, known as the Rotary Disability Games, which, this year was held in Barnsley.

The disabled adults competed in a variety of sports including archery, rifle-shooting, swimming, weight lifting, curling and many more.

All received some form of prize and on their return, they visited a fish and chip restaurant in Lincoln, where they all ‘tucked in heartily’ after a busy day.

“The day concluded around 9.30pm and began at 6am, so was indeed a very long, tiring, but most enjoyable day for all concerned,” said Michael Lenton of the Rotary Club, Spilsby.
